Telematics refers to the use of both telecommunications and informatics technology where voice, data, and video communications technology are combined.
This combination allows the following:
- To send and receive information through telecommunication devices. See ENAiKOON’s full range of devices.
- The effective remote tracking of assets, allowing you to monitor and analyse the collected data from the tracked objects. Our powerful web portal, ENAiKOON inViu, receives, stores, analyses, and tracks over 25,000 mobile objects in real-time.
- Telematics and ENAiKOON’s solutions include, but are not limited to, Global Positioning System (GPS) technology combined with web-based and mobile communication technology.
- While mainly applied to vehicles, fleet tracking, and fleet management, the technology can be used in any sector. Take a look at our case studies.
ENAiKOON provides leading technology for telematics and telemetry applications at an affordable price. They use satellite positioning by means of GPS, satellite communication via Inmarsat, and other communication aided by mobile broadcast networks (GSM: Global System for Mobile Communication). This allows automatic controls, measurements, and regulations, as well as global positioning to be conducted to an accuracy of a few metres.
Control commands can be issued via mobile data communication (GSM) or satellite communication, and results and events can be recorded via the internet, phone, fax, e-mail, text message (SMS), data call, or GPRS. This makes labour-intensive monitoring possible and tests to be minimised or avoided completely. In some cases, it is the first time that effective monitoring is made possible with this technology.
Telematics and telemetry technology has been developing continuously, and as a result, the corresponding devices have become affordable and reliable. Mobile communication costs have become low enough to be considered negligible; this is why we certainly do not view telematics as just a niche solution. The cost-benefit relationship of the technology has developed so positively that there are already innumerable applications that can be used efficiently.
