Fleet management (fleet control) refers to the planning, management and monitoring of vehicle fleets, that is, of multiple vehicles (trucks, cars, ships, trains). The journeys of the vehicles are determined, and adjusted to complement each other. Fleet management rectifies and avoids problems at an early stage.
Generally, however, the term refers to digital fleet management, that is, software designed to support the scheduling department by means of GPS systems, computer-aided job proposals and digital illustrations.
Primarily freight companies, taxi services, car rental companies, rescue organisations and anyone required to coordinate vehicles.
