The Nokia 6212 NFC is an NFC-capable mobile phone which provides a solid and inexpensive basis for ENAiKOON RFID solutions. As Near Field Communication (NFC) becomes increasingly established, (eg. at railway stations operated by German rail company Deutsche Bahn), it can be used in a variety of different ways. The mid-sized mobile has a large 2-inch QVGA display, a 2 megapixel camera, radio, a music player and a slot for micro-SD cards, which allows additional storage of up to 4 GB.
NFC is a wireless transfer system with relatively weak transmission power. The end devices must be held close to each other in order to be able to communicate. For this, suitable mobiles such as the Nokia 6212 NFC are used, which are set to an NFC tag. In this way, for example, tickets can be purchased for urban public transport without cash, and it is possible to obtain additional information about products displayed on a poster.
