ENAiKOON messenger

Send messages and transport orders directly to the vehicle navigation system and view the system’s estimated arrival time live in the Web portal

The new ENAiKOON messenger software module and the connection of  the Garmin® nüvi® appliance to the tracking module ENAiKOON locate-06 make it possible:

  • Simplify and improve the communication with your drivers
  • Send written messages and movement commands; safely and comprehensibly
  • Avoid any misunderstandings on both sides
  • Always be informed about the latest order processing, locations, and arrival times
  • Structure your logistics to the benefit of all sides:
  • the dispatcher
  • the drivers
  • the customers

Operational areas for the Garmin® telematics connection and ENAiKOON messenger

Dispatch support is particularly significant for forwarding agencies and transport companies, emergency vehicles for the police, fire department and emergency services, as well as courier services, taxis, service fleets and much more.

How does ENAiKOON messenger work?

Transmission of messages and transport orders from the ENAiKOON Web portal to the Garmin® navigation device with GPS positioning

  • How it works:
Dispatch sends messages and/or transport orders to the vehicle via the popular webportal ENAiKOON fleet-control-web or via an interface from the available dispatch programme.
  • The driver can view and confirm the order at the click of a button.
  • The GPS positioning of destinations sent by dispatch to the driver can be incorporated in the navigation system as the target destination by the driver with just one click.
  • Benefits:
  • Reduces the use of often quite expensive telephone calls and text messages.
  • Simple written communication can be traced later.
  • The driver can confirm and comment on the transport orders if the situation allows it.
  • No unnecessary costs and no unnecessary time loss through inaccurate verbal communication (“Chinese whispers”), misunderstandings or because the driver could not be reached by telephone.
  • No tedious typing of destinations using the navigation system keypad. Instead, the optimal route with all destinations, as planned by dispatch, can be easily sent to the navigation device and take over as the destination in the system at the press of a button.
  • Both the driver and the dispatcher can concentrate on their own duties.

Status reports from the navigation system and status texts from the control room to the navigation system

  • How it works:
Useful status texts are sent from dispatch to the vehicle and saved there.
  • There you can also respond to dispatch if one of the previously defined events occurs. The driver can send predefined status texts, e.g. “arrived at the customer”, “refuelling” or “please report” among other at the touch of a button. The dispatcher immediately sees the text in the ENAiKOON fleet-control-web Web portal and responds accordingly.
  • Variable text blocks can be modified by the driver, e.g. from “back in 10 minutes” to “back in 30 minutes” etc.
  • Because a text message is involved, this information can also reach the dispatcher if he or she is busy talking to a customer by telephone.
  • Benefits:
  • The driver does not have to make phone calls while driving; instead, he or she can focus on the road.
  • No unnecessary high costs for mobile phones, especially for transport abroad.
  • Because the content and form of the text status are fixed, no misunderstandings arise.
  • The status messages can be processed automatically, e.g. using a dispatch programme, because they are predefined by the dispatcher and are therefore not subject to the driver’s arbitrariness.

Free text messages from the navigation system to the control room and from the control room to the navigation system

  • Functions:
The driver can create a free-text message comparable to an SMS and send it to the server.
This message is then displayed under "Messages" in the ENAiKOON messenger menu section of the Web portal.
  • Benefits:
  • This text is simple to create and is transmitted via GPRS at low cost.
  • The text arrives securely in the Web portal. With SMS communication between mobile phones, one can never be sure.
  • Written communication is documented and can be traced.

Constant updated display of the navigation system's estimated time of arrival (ETA) in ENAiKOON fleet-control-web

  • How it works:
If the navigation device is used in the vehicle for route guidance, the connected tracking module sends the navigation system’s estimated arrival time as well as the remaining route to ENAiKOON fleet-control-web along with the standard information, such as GPS location, time, speed, etc. All information is constantly updated.
  • Benefits:
  • This gives dispatch a fast and complete overview of all data relevant to the route.
  • Dispatchers thus receive information not just about the exact current location of the vehicle, but also about the estimated arrival time and the remaining route.
  • Customer enquiries can be answered at any time without having to telephone the driver. This also makes returning the customer's call unnecessary.
  • If the navigation system’s ETA changes, the new time is transmitted immediately to dispatch so that the Web portal is always up-to-date.
